Dreamforce 2012 proved to be another exciting conference this year in terms of what it means for customers and partners at AppShark. Dreamforce is always an event marked by innovation and this year didn’t disappoint.
Here’s our take on some of the key themes at Dreamforce and how that impacts our service offering:
The Social Enterprise and Mobility Go Hand-in-Hand
Mobile app development will be a critical component of the social enterprise going forward. It’s clear that not only must a business have strong Web applications, they must have strong mobile applications. The two go hand-in-hand.
Guests heard from the CEO of Commonwealth Bank of Australia about how mobile enablement has changed the way they connect with customers. For example, the bank offers mobile payments and apps for homebuyers.
“It’s about what our customers need to make their lives better,” said Michael Harte, CIO of Commonwealth Bank of Australia (read the Commonwealth Bank of Australia Salesforce.com case study here).
Throughout the event, it also became clear that HTML5 is only gaining in importance as the premier technology in mobile enablement. Two HTML5 apps caught our attention, including:
Salesforce Touch
• Unveiled during the conference, the Touch allows Salesforce.com users to access Salesforce apps on any device.
• Touch also allows Force.com developers such as AppShark to develop custom apps within the Touch platform.
Dreamforce Party App
• Another strong use of HTML5 technology, the party app provided a listing of off-site get-togethers and who was attending so people could plan for networking and relaxation time.
Marketing Cloud
Simply put: Salesforce Marketing Cloud is really exciting. But what does it mean for customers already using other social marketing tools such as Marketo and HubSpot? What solution is best?
At AppShark, we are poised to evaluate and recommend an option that will drive the right results for your specific business needs.
“AppShark is well positioned to be a strong customer advocate with an objective assessment of what each solution brings to the table,” said Jack Pereira, AppShark Managing Director Americas. “We will help determine what is best from a cost-benefit point-of-view and a functionality point-of -view.”
Putting It All Together
A key Dreamforce theme was the concept of providing complete CRM solutions, and whether it’s Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Service Cloud or other Salesforce.com offering, tying them together for a unified view is fundamental to building a complete solution.
Mobile app integration and integration among the Salesforce Cloud solutions is one of AppShark’s specialties. It is this integration capability, combined with our custom development, implementation, consulting and support services where AppShark can really help make an impact on a business’s ROI with Salesforce.com.
“That only reinforces the value proposition AppShark offers its customers,” Pereira said. “The Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud and mobile apps don’t work by themselves. Integrations are so critical to a successful project and that’s not often fully assessed by other companies.”
